1. How do I apply
to the program?
As are most Internal
Medicine residency programs, we will be participating in the
Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS). We will not be
accepting any paper applications. Please refer to the
instructions you received through your medical school regarding
ERAS.
2. What materials
do you require?
We consider your
application to be complete when we receive:
-Medical school
transcript
-Dean's letter
-Two letters of
recommendations (not including Dean's letter)
-USMLE scores*
-Photo (optional)
*Please remember to request that the National Board of Medical
Examiners (NBME) release your scores to our program.
We may, however,
begin processing your application before we have received all of
you materials.
3. Is there
anything else that may be of interest to you?
Yes. If you have
participated in rotation at Michael Reese or are acquainted with
anyone in the program, please let us know.
4. What is the
deadline by which materials must be submitted?
We do not have an
official deadline, but please send your materials as soon as
possible.
5. When do you
hold interviews? Generally, interviews are held between
mid-November and late January.
6. Do you consider
International Medical Graduates (IMGs)?
Yes. IMGs must submit
the following material in addition to that listed above:
-Current visa
-Type of visa
anticipated for training
-License
-MBBS marks or other
certifiying exams
-Documentation of
four weeks or 160 hours of Psychiatry training
*Please
note: We cannot accept applicants who do not have
documentation of Psychiatry training and/or who require an
H-I visa for training.*
7. Do you have a
minimum acceptable score for the USMLE?
No. We consider all
applications on an individual basis.
